Beyond the Emmy Award won during his time at The Daily Show, Anthony DeRosa received a number of awards and press mentions for his early work integrating social media into journalism.

Awards

In 2011, DeRosa was awarded Best Innovation in Storytelling by Reuters for his work folding social media into the traditional news article during his time as Social Media Editor at Reuters.

In 2013, he shared the Journalist of the Year award from the Spanish newspaper El Mundo with Jennifer Preston — then social media editor at The New York Times, later an executive at the Knight Foundation — presented in Madrid for pioneering work using social media in journalism.

Press recognition

DeRosa's work running the Tumblr blog SoupSoup and integrating social platforms at Reuters drew coverage from a range of outlets: The New York Times called him "the undisputed King of Tumblr," AdWeek named him one of twenty "Young Influentials," New York Magazine included him among its "New Media Innovators," Details magazine named him one of twelve social-media "mavericks," TIME included SoupSoup on a list of must-see Tumblr blogs, and NBC New York named him one of the top 20 people to follow on Twitter.
